IED 2.0 & BAT Compliance Deadlines 2026
How IPPC Industries Can Prepare Now?
- IED 2.0 deadlines: Member States must transpose the directive by July 2026.

From Excel to Enforcement: Digital Compliance for IED & BAT

The revised Industrial Emissions Directive (IED 2.0) came into force in August 2024, with Member States required to transpose it by July 2026. At the same time, new BAT conclusions are introducing stricter emission limits and performance standards across key industries, from energy and chemicals to waste, food, and metals.
For the first time, operators will also face Transformation Plans, harmonized compliance assessments, and EU-wide reporting portals. These measures significantly raise expectations for transparency and monitoring, putting greater pressure on both regulators and companies to demonstrate continuous compliance.
While the law doesn’t explicitly demand digitalization, manual tools like Excel can’t meet these requirements. To stay audit-ready, companies need digital compliance systems that provide traceability, real-time updates, and structured data across multiple sites and jurisdictions.
